New Age practices and beliefs were strongly correlated with Magical Ideation, thin boundaries, and schizotypy (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/schizotypal-personality-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20353919) In this study there was no correlation of gender when it comes to experiencing New Age beliefs.

Ghost Investigations

Ghost Hunters (US TV Programme)

Ghost Hunters is kind of shot like a reality TV show. Quite fast-paced.

Most Haunted (UK TV Programme)

A typical UK paranormal investigation TV show. Less flashy than US counterparts. Some parts are shot like a documentary, especially when the backstory of a place is being told to the audience. It's more serious than the US shows.

Buzzfeed Unsolved (Youtube Series)

Buddy cop-movie under the guise of Ghost Hunting

The trailers are edited in the style of horror movie trailers, while the actual show is shot like a more traditional ghosthunting show. Unlike most ghosthunting shows there is a focus on the dynamic between the hosts of the show: Ryan (a believer in the supernatural) and Shane (a sceptic.) There is also a humour element deriving from Shane's casual if sometimes antagonistic behaviour towards the supernatural and Ryan's resulting terror.

Queer Ghosthunters

Haunted in Hampshire

Hinton Ampner, Alresford

The old Tudor house attained notoriety, in the 18th century, after it was said to have become uninhabitable due to loud noises attributed to a poltergeist.

The frightening activity began in earnest in 1765 ... when the entire house was awakened in the middle of the night to the sounds of several doors slamming in unison throughout the house.

During the day, the sounds of softly spoken disembodied voices could be heard throughout the house.

There has been seen a lady in white, wandering the halls and corridors seemingly in a state of constant despair.

The second is the sinister figure of a man in a long black cloak. The male apparition can be seen walking up and down the stairs but tends to stay in the shadows.

The Eclipse Inn, Winchester

Dame Alice Lisle was beheaded here on 2 September 1685. People have claimed to see her around.

Tudor House Museum, Southampton

From an investigation of the house:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/southampton/features/ghosts/tudor_house.shtml

"Staff had told us that there was one room where Dogs refused to enter and another room in which many people, including members of the public, have had paranormal experiences.

Using dowsing rods, it appeared we had contacted a spirit. The spirit indicated that it did not want us in the building and it was at this point that several members saw a dark figure at the other end of the room.

The most impressive moment of our investigation was when three of us heard footsteps on the floor above us. This was followed by a loud bang. I ran upstairs to find out what it was. As we looked around the house, I felt breathing in my ear but no reason could be found for any of these paranormal events."

The Dolphin, Southampton

A ghost named Molly haunts here. She was apparently a cleaner who died under mysterious circumstances. She can be seen at 2 am.

Possible Haunted Places

Generally, haunted places tend to be old and have had people die inside of them. Graveyards, hospitals, care homes (https://www.erudit.org/fr/revues/bioethics/2020-v3-n1-bioethics05237/1070290ar/) etc could also, theoretically, be prime haunted locations.

Cambridge Military Hospital, Aldershot, Hampshire

In the First World War, the Cambridge Hospital was the first base hospital to receive casualties directly from the Western Front. The Cambridge Hospital was also the first place where plastic surgery was performed in the British Empire.

In the comments there's a report that the building has recently been gutted as they plan to knock it down and build houses on it.

Royal Hospital Haslar, Gosport, Hampshire

https://urbanxplor.co.uk/royal-hospital-haslar-gosport/

Since 1753, The Royal Hospital Haslar in Gosport has provided medical care to the service personnel of the Royal Navy, and latterly, to the Army and RAF, and, in more recent years, civilians, too. The building of the hospital took 16 years and planning permission for it was first granted in 1745 by King George II, when the land was purchased.

Casualties from all major wars were treated at Haslar. The sick and injured servicemen from Trafalgar, Corunna, Waterloo, and Army casualties from the Crimean, as well as the two World Wars of the 20th Century, and the Falklands, were all cared for at Haslar.

When Haslar first opened, some compared it to a prison. There were overcrowded buildings, discharged patients taking up home in the attics and reports of drunkenness and petty theft among staff and patients.
